Typed noun-verb links This file contains 17,342 pairs of noun and verb synsets, each with the appropriate sense key referring to WN version 3.0. The members of each pair are linked by means of a semantic relation that is explicitly labeled. For example, "compartment" is linked to "compartmentalize" via a "Location" link, indicating that the noun expresses the location for the action denoted by the verb (we do not distinguish among Source, Goal, and other subtypes of Locations). Similarly, the noun "tweezer" is linked to the verb "tweeze" via an "Instrument" link. The labels were chosen to be maximally distinct and intuitively understandable. All pairs were manually labeled. The noun-verb pairs are a subset of WordNet's "morphosemantically" related pairs, so the members of each pair share the same stem. The relation between the noun and the verb in each pair holds for their synset members as well and can be extended to their hypernyms. The work was sponsored by AQAINT/DTO.
